Mark 12:30-31

Standard

Mark 12:30-31: “Love God with all your heart”…Heart in the Greek is Kardia which means the “SEAT” in the center of a man’s inward life…it is the place where you are most influenced causing you to feel & react a certain way depending on who occupies the seat! We allow people to sit in the seat reserved for God…causing us to react based on “man’s” nature verses God’s nature. Ask yourself who’s sitting in God’s seat?

John 15:13

Standard

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Jesus backed his words up with his actions when he died on the cross over 2,000 years ago. He always allowed his actions to speak louder than his words. The main words he always stressed were “love each other” (John 15:17). The LOVE of Christ caused Him to give up his life so that we could live. There are people all over the world “dying” from lack of food; lack of finances; and lack love. When was the last time you donated food, time, and money to those who were unable to obtain it for themselves? When was the last time you gave up something to make sure someone else had? Christ laying down his life meant he had to give it up so that we could live. What are you willing to give up today so that someone else can live?

To Keep Or To Kill

Standard

God planted a seed in my mind and then asked me if I was going to help it grow or kill it…God has birthed so many wonderful thoughts and ideas in our hearts & minds but many times we choose to have an abortion b/c we don’t want the responsibility that comes with blessings from God! STOP KILLING YOUR SEEDS! – Matthew 25:15a “To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.”

The Greatest Commandment

Standard

Jesus gives the greatest commandment to Love God…then to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves (Mark 12:30-31) Could it be that we have a lot of “Christians” who don’t love God or themselves which makes it difficult to love their neighbor? Ask yourself does the way I love my brother and sister exemplify the way I love God and myself?
